We provide specialist advice to all sorts of creative individuals, and those that work in the cultural, heritage and charity sectors. From our offices in Manchester and London we can work with you to review or create contracts, tackle employment issues, intellectual property cases and lots more legal concerns.
We also work alongside our colleagues on financial, tax and other business related consultancy matters. We don't spend our time chasing ambulances, instead we try our best to deal with your project effectively and efficiently, with the minimum of hassle. Our work is insured and regulated in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority to provide you with extra peace of mind - and at a fixed fee we can normally agree up front.
Counterculture Partnership is a member of the Charity Lawyers Association - and our partners are board members for charities, social enterprises and other creative companies. All this experience helps make sure our legal advice is pragmatic, practical and up to date.
We have a very wide working definition of the creative sector, including commercial companies, not for profit associations, trusts, and registered societies. We provide advice to student unions, community based organisations, sole traders, and charities with a national (if not international) reach. We can set up and register new organisations; provide policies and contracts to help with the day to day activities, and help with mergers and closures. From start to finish, we've got it covered from our Manchester and London offices.
We hope you never have to deal with a legal dispute - but if you do, we can help with bad debts, infringement cases, employment matters and other types of litigation.
Sometimes, it much for effective and economic to work with a group of organisations. We are proud of our partnership style of working, and we've made sure that we offer a range of services for umbrella organisations. Whether you are a membership organisation looking to offer a legal support service as one of your members' benefits, or just want help preparing guidance or model documents, we'd love to help. All of our services are flexible and bespoke, and can include workshops, talks and other interactive elements.
If you operate abroad, we can also work collaboratively with other legal advisors, and of course, our other Counterculture colleagues can contribute with fundraising, business planning and accounting advice as and when required.
Sometimes, our clients don't need legal advice. They may need someone to help prepare a guide, or deliver a workshop or talk. At Counterculture, we are happy to help provide mentoring, guidance, advice and assistance to compliment our legal services. Our lawyers are used to presenting complex information in an easy to understand manner - and some are trained actors! We draw upon the skills and experience of our Counterculture colleagues so that at times when you may need help that is short of legal advice, we can still deliver.
Our flexible approach will help make the most of limited budgets. If more complex legal issues are identified, we can seamlessly deliver those additional services as and when required. How's that for a joined up approach?!
You can write us a letter, email or use the form. If you prefer, give us a call and arrange to meet for a coffee. We operate a strict confidentiality policy, and we'll only use your contact information to respond.
